Tallinn Ulemiste Airport (TLL)
Airport Information
(Tallinn, Estonia)
Also known as Ulemiste Airport, Tallinn Airport (TLL) is Estonia's largest airport, with domestic and international flights serving over 1.5 million passengers annually. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Ulemiste, just over 3 km / 2 miles from Tallinn city centre and close to Jüri, Lagedi, Lehmja and Loo. The airport is also near to Muuga Harbour (the Port of Tallinn) and underwent major reconstruction in the late 1990s. Its facilities now rival those at airports in Western Europe.
Tallinn Airport has one main terminal building with five terminal gates. Although small, the airport is capable of handling its passenger traffic very efficiently, and its size and well thought-out layout make it very easy to navigate. Tallinn Airport is the home base for Estonian Air, the national carrier, and is also served by a number of other airlines, such as easyJet ad FlyNordic, with direct flights to and from many European cities.

The 1970s saw a major extension of the runway and the addition of a new terminal, with modern passenger facilities. By 1990, other foreign airlines began using Tallinn Ulemiste Airport and at the turn of the new millennium, the terminal building had been thoroughly updated.
Facilities at Tallinn Ulemiste Airport (TLL) include currency exchange, Internet access, travel agencies and an information desk within the Departures Hall, offering general tourist information about Tallinn. Food can be purchased at the R-Kiosk in Arrivals, or alternatively there is a snack bar and a cocktail bar in the transit area.
